English Inter Series Cup 2026, 28-29 March 2026

In 2025, myself and the other Tournament Series Organisers (TSOs) from around England arranged a FUMBBL tournament which we called Champions of England, where all the regions were playing against each other in a round robin tournament to see which was the best region (answer: Yorkshire in 2025). A few of the TSOs lead by littleleadperson decided that a table top event would be feasible - I was hopeful it would work but was unsure of the buy in from accross the country. It turns out there was a lot of buy in, with only the North East unable to field a side - replaced by a squad of freebooters - and a large number of the best coaches in the country were representing their region.  Alongside this, there was a signles event with the winner of it earning a spot on their team for the 2027 event. As the 33rd best coach in the South East, I was in the signles event with the intention of trying to sneak into the South East coach for next year.  The South East was represented by StarFer...

Runnymede Rumble 2, Egham 14th March 2026

On Saturday it was the second Runnymede Rumble! The Egham Tabletop Society ran their first event last May   and the second instalment was part of the South East Tournament Series 2026 .  The event was really well run again, and a great day out. This year I went up with Matt (dakanariez) from SKABB and we collected _the_ghost_ on the way up there.  I've set myself the target of a top 4 finish in the SETS this year, to qualify for the South East team for the English Inter Series Cup 2027 (the first interaction of this was an online FUMBBL event last year, with the first tabletop event taking place in Sheffield on 28-29 March with an open event alongside it, for which there are still tickets). As such, after a low scoring finish in Brighton a couple of weeks ago, I wanted to take a team that I thought would perform really well in the ruleset. I picked Old World Alliance - the try hard team du jour - and named them Try Hard United. I was going to name the players after genui...

BriBBe Spring Break 26: Shark Week! 28th February 2026, Brighton

Image
This last weekend was the third iteration of Spring Break in Brighton, and the first that I've been able to make it down to. Each one has a different theme, with this year's being Sharks and shark horror films. There were special rules around the pitch being in the middle of the ocean and circled by sharks, meaning any player pushed off the pitch was likely eaten alive.  You could also hire Quint (from Jaws) who was effectively a dwarf lineman with wrestle and stand firm, and who would double up as a team mascot and an 11th player if you were ever short - with the caveat that he would get eaten by a shark at the end of the drive! It's a really great mark of how well BriBBe organise their events such that each one has it's own unique feel (with Spring Break's probably changing each year as well).  The meta was very interesting - lots of people had leaned into teams with frenzy - khorne, norse, dark elves and dwarfs - with no-one taking the try hard team du jour of Ol...
