Eurotrash, 23rd May in Bromley

Image
This past Saturday was the first NAF event run by the 23rd best TO in London (TM), the nicest guy in Blood Bowl (TM) and nob lover Tofu! He had themed it around the Eurobowl ruleset and has some amazing and unique trophies for the event.   I opted to play high elves for a few reasons. The seem undertiered in Eurobowl, I've just painted the models, and I have been wanting them to become my new favourite team since they were announced... however that was on the assumption that they might be the only elf team with 4 catchers which obviously hasn't come to fruition.  There were two main roster builds for high elves in the rule set. I went for the one which included a stack with a dodge/strip ball white lion. This meant I also had 2 dodge dragon princes, dodge on the other lion, a leader thrower and a wrestle lino along with an apo. I thought that this would better suit my playstyle. I'd been working to improve my painting and I was very pleased with how they came out. I spent...

Blood on the Sand, Folkestone 9th May 20262

Image
This Saturday we hosted the first SKABB event of the year, Blood on the Sand. It was the first time that damology was TOing a full Blood Bowl event after dipping his toe in the water with our Christmas Gutterbowl. He was being assisted by Fluffles and DaKanariez as well. The event was Tomb King themed, with the Canopic Jar inducement being available, the Tomb King kick off table and ancient, possibly cursed 3D printed trophies for the winners. Bretonnians had been tiered with the stunty teams to encourage coaches to take them, and you will find that two try hard coaches did just that, along with a little friend. The friend I chose was Skrorg and the friend Star Ferret chose was Griff. There were other players on our teams with a few skills, but they were really just there to round out the numbers.  Round 1 v Dan (danc) Dan has joined our league this season and doing well with Amazons. He'd brought humans along to the tourney and thinking that my team relies on Skrorg hitting and re...

NAF Championship 2026, 2-3 May 2026.

This was my 6th NAF Championship. It is the one event I always try to make sure I make it to for a number of reasons, that I'm sure I've spoken about in previous years so I won't go over those again.  I've tried to take a different team to each one, and I'd also been trying to take a different team to each Season 3 tournament so far. However I decided to break with the second of these self-imposed restrictions and take dark elves which I'd taken to Sheffield, done well with and were one of the teams I was most interested in playing. I switched builds slightly and went for a block and wrestle witch, two dodge blitzers, only one assassin with dodge, a runner and six linemen. This allowed me to have 3 re-rolls plus a team mascot. I could have made it 4 re-rolls by switching the dodge on the assassin to leader on the thrower, which in hindsight I probably would have done.  Round 1 v Cornish I'd played Cornish at Waterbowl in 2025 and we'd drawn that game. Th...

English Inter Series Cup 2026, 28-29 March 2026

Image
In 2025, myself and the other Tournament Series Organisers (TSOs) from around England arranged a FUMBBL tournament which we called Champions of England, where all the regions were playing against each other in a round robin tournament to see which was the best region (answer: Yorkshire in 2025). A few of the TSOs lead by littleleadperson decided that a table top event would be feasible - I was hopeful it would work but was unsure of the buy in from accross the country. It turns out there was a lot of buy in, with only the North East unable to field a side - replaced by a squad of freebooters - and a large number of the best coaches in the country were representing their region.  Alongside this, there was a signles event with the winner of it earning a spot on their team for the 2027 event. As the 33rd best coach in the South East, I was in the signles event with the intention of trying to sneak into the South East coach for next year.  The South East was represented by StarFer...

Runnymede Rumble 2, Egham 14th March 2026

Image
On Saturday it was the second Runnymede Rumble! The Egham Tabletop Society ran their first event last May   and the second instalment was part of the South East Tournament Series 2026 .  The event was really well run again, and a great day out. This year I went up with Matt (dakanariez) from SKABB and we collected _the_ghost_ on the way up there.  I've set myself the target of a top 4 finish in the SETS this year, to qualify for the South East team for the English Inter Series Cup 2027 (the first interaction of this was an online FUMBBL event last year, with the first tabletop event taking place in Sheffield on 28-29 March with an open event alongside it, for which there are still tickets). As such, after a low scoring finish in Brighton a couple of weeks ago, I wanted to take a team that I thought would perform really well in the ruleset. I picked Old World Alliance - the try hard team du jour - and named them Try Hard United. I was going to name the players after genui...

BriBBe Spring Break 26: Shark Week! 28th February 2026, Brighton

Image
This last weekend was the third iteration of Spring Break in Brighton, and the first that I've been able to make it down to. Each one has a different theme, with this year's being Sharks and shark horror films. There were special rules around the pitch being in the middle of the ocean and circled by sharks, meaning any player pushed off the pitch was likely eaten alive.  You could also hire Quint (from Jaws) who was effectively a dwarf lineman with wrestle and stand firm, and who would double up as a team mascot and an 11th player if you were ever short - with the caveat that he would get eaten by a shark at the end of the drive! It's a really great mark of how well BriBBe organise their events such that each one has it's own unique feel (with Spring Break's probably changing each year as well).  The meta was very interesting - lots of people had leaned into teams with frenzy - khorne, norse, dark elves and dwarfs - with no-one taking the try hard team du jour of Ol...

Kent Team Championship 2026, 21-22 February 2026 in Canterbury

Image
Last weekend we ran the 4th iteration of the Kent Team Championship (the third as a NAF approved event).  Every year I am overawed by the number of people that trust that we will put on a great Blood Bowl event. The first year as a NAF-event blew my mind. We had 120 coaches, largely unexpectedly. I had thought that we might hit around half of that number. In 2025 we switched to a 2-day, 6-game event when the numbers dropped slightly (I imagine that it is trickier to get a team of 4 who are able to commit to a whole weekend than it is for a one-day event), but in 2026 we were back up to the 120 mark. Thank yous Whilst I am the lead, there are so many people who help to make the experience what it is, and I want to thank them straight off before I forget to do so. There are: the referees - eldritchfox, whitehot and andiroo the advisors - saltyseawench, starferret, hexbaron, torquemada, cptoats, purplechest, misspelledtree the streamers - New Dice Please (videos of the top table are a...
